FAQ's
What is the process for using iSymmetry?
Tell us what you need to accomplish. First, we'll review the scope of the project and then we will evaluate the resources required to meet your objectives. We will then propose the most cost-effective solution based on your specific circumstances. This may include contract staffing, our "working interview" program, direct placement services, payrolling, dedicated recruiting, and consulting services.
How do you locate qualified IT professionals?
Our consultants come from our database of registered IT professionals, our web site, referrals, networking, specialized advertising, and other sources. We are continually recruiting top IT talent.
How do you qualify your consultants?
We adhere to an exhaustive candidate evaluation process that allows us to assess the technical competence of our consultants as well as the behavioral "fit" factors. This process includes skills testing, a detailed interview, and reference checking.
When should I use a consultant?
Consultants can be an ideal means of controlling project costs, speeding development, and managing employment risk. Typically, consultants are best in the following situations:
- Assignments of one year or less
- Projects where specialized expertise is needed and not available in-house
- When technology managers cannot afford the time or loss of focus to hire on their own
- "Risky" projects where you do not want to commit to a permanent hiring decision
- When current staff are working excessive overtime, using consultants will reduce labor costs and help prevent burnout
How is the consultant's hourly bill rate determined?
Our bill rates are determined based on the hourly pay rate we will need to offer to entice the caliber of candidate you require, plus all statutory expenses (FICA, FUTA, SUI), and a servicing fee that covers payroll processing, our sales, recruitment and servicing expenses, and profit. You will always be quoted an hourly bill rate prior to the start of any assignment.
Does the bill rate ever change?
Once you agree on the bill rate, it remains in effect until the end of the assignment. Please note that for assignments lasting longer that one year, we will conduct an annual review and may give the consultant a raise. In that case, we will negotiate a new bill rate. If during the course of the assignment a consultant is given greater or different responsibilities at your company, a pay raise may be necessitated, in which case we will also negotiate a new bill rate.
Who is the employer?
iSymmetry, Inc. is the "employer of record" for our contractors. We handle payroll, social security, and state and federal unemployment taxes. We also provide employees workers' compensation, and errors and omissions insurance coverage. iSymmetry, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
How does the consultant get paid?
The pay rate is negotiated in advance between iSymmetry, Inc. and the consultant. Once a time sheet is submitted, it is processed for payroll and the consultant is paid the following week.
How long must I keep a consultant on assignment?
There is no minimum commitment.
How do I end the assignment?
Just let us know when the assignment will be completed. Either we can inform the consultant, or if you prefer, you can speak with him/her.
